This is a list of the most popular lamps (in the current category). The popularity is determined by the number of clicks by consumers. We only show lamps which have a price and where the consumer can buy the lamp online.
lm/watt This is the efficacy of the lamp in lumen/watt. An higher number means better efficacy and more power savings.
In order to find a good substitute for your existing bulb, it is important that selected fitting is identical to the existing lamp. Otherwise, the new lamp does not fit into the existing fixture.
Color Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a specific type of light source. Warm light has low color temperature, cool light has a high color temperature.
The amount of light produced by a lamp, called Luminous Flux , is expressed in lumen. More lumen, means more light. When searching for a good replacement for an existing lamp it is important that the new lamp produces the same amount of light as the existing lamp. Because most people are not yet familiar with the term lumen, we ask user to fill in the amount of Watt of the existing lamp. The system then calculates this into lumen for the given lamp type. This ensures that the lamp produces enough light.
Here are a few references: A 40W incandescence light bulb produces around 440 lumen. A 35W halogen spot, which is less efficient than a bulb, produces 150 lumen.
Some LED and EnergySaving lamps are dimmable
The exact dim behaviour of the specific lamp can be found in the corresponding measurement report. Some lamps lend themselves very nicely to dim (evenly) others have a more irregular dimming.
When choosing a FL tube it is important to choose the right length which will fit in the existing luminaire. You can choose between the post popular lengths
When no specific length is choosen, all lengths will be shown on the result page
The beam angle is important for the atmosphere created by the lamp.
Spots with a small beam angle (0-20 degrees) are often used for highlighting objects
Spots with a normal beam angle (21-50 degrees) create a nice room athmosphere.
Spots with a wide beam angle (51-180 degrees) are pure functional and can light a large area
When no beam angle is selected, spots with all beam angles will be shown on the result page.
The CRI is an index, a measure, that tells something about how colors are represensted by light coming from a certain light bulb, compared to how the colors are rendered with the light coming from a reference illuminant.
A good color representation is important when you want to make a good distinction between colors. Some application examples: Clothes shop, paint shop, printing house.
When no specific CRI is selected, lamps with all CRI values will be shown on the result page.
The start-up behavior, in other words, the warming-up period of a LED lamp is significant. By measuring both the power and the illuminance of the lamp during warming-up, the efficiency can be determined. When the efficiency drops a lot during the warming-up period it means that the LED lamp is getting hot, which is a possible indicator for a short lifetime.
All results of the lamps come from the database of independent measurements by OliNo.
You can get more technical information of each lamp by pressing the Measurement Report button. The independant measurement report by OliNo shows the real performance of the lamp.
The found lamps have the specifications which satisfy the user selection.
The lamps are ordered by efficacy (lumen/watt). The lamps with the highest efficacy are on top.
