LumitexT – Endurance test LumiBOX-XT led strips

LumitexT has put their led strip called LumiBOX-XT in endurance test.

This article presents the endurance test results. The test has run 6000 hours.

Luminous Flux 1588 lm 1489 lm Decrease of 6.2 %. The Illuminance decreased more with 10%. This is because the beam pattern has changed a bit; in the direction straight underneath the lamp the intensity has dropped more.

Test duration and test environment

The lamp went into endurance test on 25 Oct 2011 until 19 July 2012.

During this period of time the lamp has seen the following ambient temperature and ambient relative humidity.

Period Sept 2011 – Jan 2012.

Jan 2012 – Mar 2012.

April 2012 – July 2012.

July 2012 – Sept 2012.

The ambient temperature close to the lamp varied between 15-32 deg C and the relative humidity between 15-80 %.

The extrapolation is done with help of the illuminance measured, until the 70 % level.

The extrapolation of this data until 70 % of illuminance is reached at about 20.000 hours.

Color change

The color change (change in color coordinates) is measured during the test period.

The color coordinates indicated with the red cross-hairs are the coordinates after 1000 burn hours. These are taken as reference. After 6000 hours the color point goes outside the 4-step McAdams ellipse.
