LumitexT – Endurance test 20x led modules LumiString HLC2S
Posted by Marcel van der Steen in Endurance Test No Comments»LumitexT has put a set of 20 ledmodules in endurance test.
This article presents the endurance test results. The test has run 6.000 hours and shows a constant light output.
See here the results of the 0-hours test.

Test duration and test environment
The lamp went into endurance test on 5 Sept 2012 until 18 May 2013.
During this period of time the lamp has seen the following ambient temperature and ambient relative humidity.
Sept 2012 – Nov 2012.
Nov 2012 – March 2013
The ambient temperature close to the lamp varied between 8-27 deg C and the relative humidity between 25-73 %. No ambient data is available for months April, May, due to a problem with low battery for the temperature and RH sensor. However the ranges given will include the values for these months as well.
Variation of lamp parameters
The variation of the lamp parameters during the endurance test.
See the explanation on the OliNo site for more on the test method.
No extrapolation to the 70 % level of the luminous flux is possible when using the illuminance as a measure for the luminous flux. The illuminance does not decrease after 1,000 hours.
There is a small variation in illuminance, probably due to the tape getting loose behind some modules and that resulted in a shift of their angular position. Afterwards these modules were again put straight.
Extrapolation of the illuminance.
See the explanation on the OliNo site for more explanation and the link to the ASSIST document for the method of extrapolation.
The extrapolation of this data until 70 % of illuminance is reached could not be done as explained before.
Color change
The color change (change in color coordinates) is measured during the test period.
Change in color coordinates during the endurance test.
The color coordinates indicated with the red cross-hairs are the coordinates after 1000 burn hours. These are taken as reference. After 6,000 hours the color point remains almost inside an 1-step McAdams ellipse. This is a very good result for constancy of color.
